Putting the Lakefront back into the Lakefront Trail

Yesterday, I ran/walked farther than I had in a long time. 6.5 miles to be exact. My goal was six miles, to the lakefront and home. But by the time I got down to the lakefront, it was so picturesque, I decided to throw in the extra half mile of running along the lake.

I'm tired today, but not too bad. I'm going to try to get down to the lake every weekend until the 10k next month.

  1. Shoot. I was actually in town over the weekend and I saw that same view from that same spot on Sunday morning. Aargh we must have been near each other!! I was even keeping an eye out for you, Erica and Declan every time I was on the LFT just in case.

Either way, congrats on the longer distance :)

    1. Oh wow, too bad I didn't see you out there! Besides the Belmont Harbor lakeside area, I was only on the actual LFT for the northbound stretch between Belmont and Irving Park for about 5 minutes at around 7:15 am. So, it would have been super coincidental if we would've bumped into each other. I had my eyes peeled for those two as well, but alas - no WRCE sightings. Womp.

    2. That's right when I was there! My version of your second pic is even timestamped 7:14. I got down to that spot behind the clock tower right before sunrise, sat on the rocks for a few minutes and then headed up to Montrose Harbor.
