My Run in the Snow

I got out for an early run this morning. It was relatively bright out despite the cloud cover thanks to all of the snow we got yesterday. I cross country skied last night in the same park, but decided not to ski this morning. Since the marathon is a month away, I need to get some good old fashioned running miles in.

Horner Park

I had to dodge the 3 or 4 snow plows that were circling the park the entire time I was running.

Chicago River with snow covered trees and some ducks (not snow covered)

I was the only one out running, it was kind of peaceful. Five miles total. Worked out at the gym, then swam for 15 minutes.

    1. Thanks. It's good to be back out there again! I'm with you! I can't describe how much I love running in the snow! I still need to register for the Get Lucky. I think my ankle will hold (fingers crossed)!

  2. Just gorgeous! I really need to acclimate myself to outdoor running in the winter - even if it's just for the views and the peacefulness:)

    1. Thanks. Yes, you should try it a couple times. You'll get used to it and maybe prefer it to running in the summer.

    1. Yeah, they are tough ducks, they make the Polar Plungers look wimpy! :-)

  4. I love running early when hardly anyone is out. I feel like I own the lake front path!

  5. Such peaceful photos! Actually it kind of makes me sad that winter will be drawing to a close soon! And watch out for those crazy snowplows. =)
