I took advantage of the nice early-spring-like-temps and headed out to the lake to get a recovery run in. (Recovery as in recovery from the long weekend!)

I heard that some of the marathon training groups start this weekend, so the number of relatively empty Lakefront runs will be reduced until mid-October. Add to that there will likely be plenty of 80+ degree brutal days from now until then, and this was really a run to savor.

Yes! Take advantage of the clear trail and cool temps while you can :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I will try! :-)
DeleteMust second Kim... Enjoy the solitude and cooler temps while they last! Nice run! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I hope they stick around a little longer. At least until next Saturday. I've got two races between now and then! Thanks! :-)
DeleteI just saw the forecast for tomorrow is back in the high 80's. I'm not looking forward to running in that! I'm glad you could get a nice run in today before it got too hot.
ReplyDeleteThanks. High in the 80s? Ouch, I need to get up early. Oh well, I will need to acclimatize to summer sooner or later. :(
DeleteYay for a fantastic run before the crowds start filling up the lakefront path and before the temps get up to summer-like levels!!! How do you take such great self-pictures in action!?!?!? Everytime I try to do so I end up with some blurry unrecognizable disaster, LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I guess I was lucky taking the self-pic. I don't look at them until after my run, so it could have been bad! :-)
DeleteToday's weather was perfect for running!
ReplyDeleteYes it was! :-)
DeleteRunning self takes TALENT! I've been seeing a few training groups out on the lakefront. Thankfully I avoid most of them until the weekend. Glad you got a run in!
