I was sitting at my local yoga studio, leafing through
Chicago Athlete magazine, and saw a two page picture they had of the start of the 2012 Chicago Marathon. In true "Where's Waldo" fashion, I scanned the two pages to see if I was somewhere in the picture:

Where's Pete B? Hint: Can you see the red arrow? |

It pays to wear a goofy yellow ski hat so you can find yourself in a crowd of white hats and bare heads. Also, at that point it looks like I was only about a minute behind the Kenyans! Somehow I lost contact with them and they finished over an hour ahead of me!
oh my gosh! haha whoa, what a cool picture!!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I will try and make the picture again next year! :-)
DeleteThat is hilarious that you actually found yourself--awesome!
ReplyDeleteYears ago when Fleet Feet did the Nike Women's 5k/10k they had a huge, backlit pic of it in their store. Yours truly was featured prominently haha! 15 minutes of fame!
Cool story. My image is tiny. It is better to be in a huge pic inside Fleet Feet!
DeleteThat's awesome and worth framing for the wall :) I always scan the herd fotos for myself, but have never found me :(
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yeah, this is a rare time when I actually found myself!
DeleteNiiiice! This is one of the reasons I like wearing bright colors to races.
ReplyDeleteYes, I will have to remember to wear something that makes me stand out in future races.
DeleteSweet! Still can't believe you lost the Kenyans though. LOL. ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah, somehow they got away! :)
DeleteSO AWESOME!!!!! What are the odds!!??!? I always look at the herd photos but have never found myself.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I found my husband in the Illinois Marathon marketing material (he ran the half) a few years ago. It's so EXCITING!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool. Did you get it framed? I think my pic is too small for framing!
DeleteLove the bright ski hat! I think for the F3 half marathon I will be wearing all black and bright orange hat! haha! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Maybe you'll see your pic in the photos for the F^3!
DeleteThat is awesome you spotted yourself, it is a great photo!
