Marathon Corral News:
I got the word today that Chicago Marathon corral assignments were finally posted (about 4 weeks late)! After checking their website, I found that I squeaked into the "A" corral. So, now need to finish off my training like I deserve to be running with the big dogs!
From Chicago Marathon website |
As far as my training goes, I really only have three more weeks in the 70 mpw range and then it will be taper time. The Chicago Half Marathon is next weekend (Sept. 7) and I would like to run sub-1:28. If I can do that, I know that from McMillan's calculator that I should at least be fit enough to attain a marathon PR (3:05:03). Here's hoping it is somewhat cool next Sunday so I can get the most accurate reading possible and get a realistic marathon pace.
How is your Chicago Marathon (or other) training going?
Hooray for making into A with the big dogs! Well deserved. Yeah I'm up for a cooldown in temps any time now.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm hoping for a cooldown as well! :)
DeleteA for Awesome! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI'm in C, like I wanted to be. My plan is to start all the way in the back of said C corral and run my training pace.
Thanks. C is for Champion! Congrats to you too! I think I will start in the back of said A corral and see if I can't finally negative split a marathon for once!
DeleteI bow down to you in respect. The A team, I mean corral! Woo hoo! Meanwhile, I have no corral assignment. I'm sure they're considering me for the elite start, if not the A corral. Seriously...they messed up my registration and are "working to fix the problem".Stay tuned...

Thanks! Hopefully you can get your corral assignment problem fixed soon!
DeleteI totally wish I was fast enough and cool enough to join your running group. :) And awesome job getting into Corral A! I would save that race bib forever. I'm hoping for good weather at the Chicago Half, too! I'm just using it as a training run (and to get my awesome 39.3 medal) but I'd prefer not to bake out there. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou are cool enough to join the running group and as far as pace, we could accommodate any pace! Anyway, maybe I'll see you at the Chicago Half. It will definitely be a training run, but also hoping for it to help indicate my marathon pace as well. Fingers crossed for bake-free weather! :)
DeleteWOWSA you go! That's awesome! I think I was in G when I ran Chicago, LOL! Back of the packer here. Training for the Fox Valley half marathon this year, which will be my husband's first!

Thanks! "G" is more middle of the pack, right? Anyway, good luck with your training and very cool that your husband will be doing his first half with you!
DeleteThat is so awesome on Corral A which stands for Awesome and Amazing!!
