We finally got enough snow in the city for me to finally break out the cross country skis! I had to get out early before too much of the sidewalk was plowed.

This looks awesome! I wonder if sledding counts as cross training?
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm sure sledding does count as cross training, since you've got to hike uphill every time you want to go downhill! :-)
DeleteOh my gosh. It is just too awesome seeing you on your skiis in an urban setting. What fun! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a blast!
DeleteOh my god that looks awesome! I wish I had skis now so I could zip around in the fresh snow. I'm guessing it doesn't bother your ankle? Thanks, I wanna go play in the snow now and make my first honest to god snowman instead of sit at my desk..., :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it was pretty awesome. I got the skis about 18 months ago and this is only the third real time that I have gotten to use them! No problems with the ankle, x-country skiing is low-impact as you are always (partially) attached to your skis. Maybe you can sneak out at lunch and build a snowman! :-)
Deleteahah that looks SUPER fun!! I've never ever skiied before!
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely get some skis, or at least find a x-country ski track in your area. Sometimes a park or forest preserve will rent skis. You only need to rent them for a couple of hours because it is a really good workout!
DeleteHow cool! And you must live by me - I run through Horner Park and down Montrose pretty regularly. Now I'll have to keep an eye out for someone on skis :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun workout. I really want to give snow shoeing a try, this winter just has been too light on snow (careful what I wish for).
