Muggy at the Track

I got to the North Park University track at about 6:30am and it was already steamy.  Luckily it was overcast and not sunny at all.  Since today was a recovery day, I did not do any intervals or any speed work.  Got to see a local elite train, however.

5.5 miles @ 8:27/mile.
7:45 to 8am: Lap swim

    1. Sorry kilax, I accidentally hit "Delete" instead of "Reply", so your comment is gone. Yes, "here comes summer." I guess we can't do anything about it, except deal with it: Get up earlier, stay hydrated, and count down the days until Fall!

  2. Can anyone use this track? I have always wanted to run on a track, having never done cross country (or any sport, for that matter.)

    1. Yes, it is open to the public, although occasionally, the university has track meets there and it is not open then. If you are driving, there are usually a few open street parking spaces in the area. I never ran track or x-country either, so I am not an expert. I like to run there because it's softer than running on concrete, it is easy to measure distance (4 laps = 1 mile), I can set my water down along the track and drink it when I need it, and there are no hills! I am going to try and get there at least once a week in preparation for the marathon.
