Pictures from my Wrigleyville Run this Morning

Since the World Series comes around these parts once every 71 years, and I only live two miles from Wrigley Field, I thought I'd do my morning run around Wrigleyville. I was excited to see the sights before game three of the World Series tonight.  My run was at around 7am and it was already a beehive of activity:

World Series at Wrigley? Believe it!
Hundreds of people in line to see if last minute World Series
tickets become available.at the box office

At least 40 people were already in line at 7 am to pay $100 to
watch the game on tv at the Cubby Bear Lounge at 7 pm

The Bleachers decked out with World Series flags

A dancing Cubs fan outside the bleachers

Murphy's Bleachers with about 100 fans drinking outside
in 45 degree temps at 7 am.
I can't imagine how crazy things will be near Wrigley Field tonight and especially on Sunday if they win the next two games and are on the verge of clinching. Go Cubs!

  1. What a fun time to be down there! Thanks for sharing! It's nuts that people were lining up so early for the game! I can't imagine what it's going to be like tonight and the next two nights!

Do you live on one of the streets that had to move all the cars off, or not that close?

    1. Yes, it was crazy that so many people were out there. I wonder if they'll charge people to sit in Wrigleyville bars tonight for the game in Cleveland?! I am not that close. I'm not sure how far out the perimeter extended around Wrigley on game day.

  2. I can't believe bars are charging people to watch the game! I'm happy to enjoy from the comfort of my family room couch...does that make me old?

  3. Wow - this is so crazy! I don't live close enough to try and make a run out of this (and I'm out of town this weekend) so I'm glad to live vicariously through your run!

  4. Nice shots! I used to run to Wrigley pretty regularly (via Berteau to Clark) - it would be so fun to run by the World Series! My friend and I were down there at around 3 on Saturday and it was NUTS. I can't believe people were lining up at 7am! That's so crazy.

    1. Yes, it was definitely a must to run by Wrigley for at least one game! Yeah, I wonder if the fans were so quiet for the first two night games at Wrigley because they had been partying since 7:00 am?!
