XMas Eve on the Lakefront Trail

Not too much happening on the running front, besides just plain old running. Ran 70 miles last week and I'm on track to do it again this week (if I don't eat and drink too much tonight). In other news I did not win the two running blogger giveaways for the F^3 Half Marathon, but I may sign up for it anyway, because what else do I have going on mid-January? Oh yeah, the "S-NO-W Fun Run" with the Wurst Running Club Ever on Jan. 10!

Well, maybe I'll just have to run both races.

Anyway, I went out for a 14 mile run today by the lake and it was cold and raining and I had a blast.

Not many people were out there, and those that were were pretty fast. I got dusted by a couple of runners, but I let them go. Must be the holiday spirit?

 Have a happy one! :)

  2. Too bad about work, but you are probably done by now! Merry Xmas! Thanks, no hurry on the pickle juice, I might not really need it until my spring marathon training really kicks in!

  3. I wish I could have gotten out this morning for a run, but sadly, I worked a half day and then had to brave the crowds at a store. Boo. Once I get my butt off the couch, I will actually run outside, for the first time since Sunday!

  4. I'll go for a Christmas run tomorrow...my coach has sidelined me these past couple of weeks since I didn't take any time off after Chicago. She wants me to rest before she starts getting me ready for my March half in Florida.

    Merry Christmas Pete!

    1. Good luck on your Christmas run. Probably a good idea to take a couple of weeks off before hitting it hard again! Merry Christmas Wendy! :)

  5. Aw, it's so nice to see the LFT again! Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the mild weather this week!

I'm a little nervous about S-No-W Fun myself since my running has tapered to... well, nothing. Is that still a taper?

    1. Yes, it is nice to enjoy the Trail, although today it might be getting a tad too warm. It's almost shorts weather again! :) Don't be nervous about the S-No-W Fun run, I took a month off before that race last year and still had a blast! Anyway, the race is secondary to the festivities! :)

  6. I'm tempted by the F3 but part of me knows if I sign up our weather will change. For the worst. Or is that wurst? Glad you're enjoying your runs!

    1. Yes, the F3 is tempting. I guess the price goes up again soon, so I should decide in the next few days. Thanks!

  7. I did not win either. Maybe it is a sign that I should not run that race. :-)

Kudos on the 70 miles. I can barely run that much in a month.

    1. I have not been lucky with that race either. I lost two contests for free entries and two years ago, I paid $70 to run the race and I was unable to - due to an injury! Thanks! :)
