I Got What I Wanted

On Saturday, I mentioned that I wanted a few weeks of cold and strong winds this winter for my marathon training.

So, I went for a run by the lake yesterday morning.
Waves crashing
Who knew that on my first run of my 18 week training cycle, I would almost get my wish?

I "almost" got my wish because it was only 40 degrees (not too cold), but it was wet and windy.

However, it felt more like 30 degrees.

Nevertheless, it was an excellent workout and it was nice to knock out my first run, get home and get dried off!

One down 100+ more to go! Total Run: 10.25 miles @ 7:56/mile

    1. Yes, it was quite windy by the lake yesterday and not so much away from the lake for some reason. Thanks!

  2. Wow - those are some scary-looking waves! It must have felt so good to come home afterwards, take a nice hot shower, and put on dry clothing!

  3. It's nice to know I'm not the only one out there trying to conquer the winds lol (But you're actually enjoying it haha.) I am dreading the winter.. but I guess/hope it will make me a stronger (atleast mentally strong) runner for the LA marathon.

PS. do you take pictures with your phone?!
How does it NOT break? I always want to take pictures on my runs but I've broken too many iPhones in the rain

    1. I don't take pictures with my phone. I take pictures with a camera, which I keep the camera in a case attached to my running belt. Sorry to hear about your broken iPhones. I was worried about the camera getting wet in the rain, but it was okay. Maybe next time I'll buy one of those water-proof cameras!

    1. It's healthy to be scared of those waves. I'm sure they have washed more than one runner into the icy lake! Better to scream and stay back than carelessly running too close to them. :-)

  5. Oh gosh. Those waves SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME! I went running in March on a windy day and I was terrified that the waves would swallow me up.

  7. Be careful what you wish for- but I'm sure you're already aware of that. ;)

I couldn't bring myself to run outside in the windy wetness Sunday. Props to you for being such a badass. I am wanting to run while it's snowing hard. But wind and rain make me a wuss. Hehe
